Motorsport Driveshafts.
Most OEM driveshafts are equipped with a CV-joint (Rzeppa joint). These joints generally run quieter and can provide a greater articulation angle. For motorsport usage, especially in racing, the advantages of a tripod joint are usually greater to those compared to a CV-joint.
Advantages of Tripod driveshafts
- Larger plunge (in-out movement)
- Easy to maintain
- Lower total weight
- Low resistance, lower power-loss
- High-load capability
- Long life cycle
The driveshafts and hubs are manufactured from a high-grade steel and heat treated. In some applications a hollow-bored shaft is required, which also can be manufactured on request.
Agile manufacturing
To keep prices economical and lead times short, KMP standardizes most of its components. Most common parts are designed to be modular and are kept in stock. Shaft lengths are mostly custom made depending on the car setup. Feel free to contact us for more information about possible options or solutions.
