Paddleshift components.

More and more ECU’s come with integrated shift control. Because during semi-automatic shifting (paddleshift) you also need to control the engine (torque reduction/increment), it makes sense to integrate the complete shift function in the ECU.

For specific applications where a paddleshift kit doesn’t fulfill the needs, the paddleshift components can be controlled by a GCU (Gearbox Control Unit). The same shift strategy and software is used as in a complete paddleshift kit.

We have developed paddleshift components which can be controlled by ECU’s which have these shift strategies integrated. The components such as a shift cylinder, paddles or a valve block are designed to meet the requirements for the harsh environments of Motorsports.

Available components

Paddles
The paddles can be supplied with or without a sandwich plate, which is used to simplify the installation.
Valve block
If electronic throttle (and blip) function is available, the dual valve block is used for controlling the shift cylinder. If there is no electronic blip control, a triple valve block includes a blip valve which also controls the blip cylinder. The integrated pressure sensor gives feedback to the ECU to control the compressor.
Accumulator
The 800cc air buffer is needed to provide sufficient pressure during short shifting.
Compressor
A 12V compressor is used to supply the system with compressed air (up to 10 bar). The compressor is oil-free and can be mounted in any position.
Shift cylinder
We have designed shift cylinders with different kinds of strokes, to be universally applicable. With these different cylinder and bracket options, it is easy to mount a shift cylinder on any sequential gearbox.
Blip cylinder
If there is not an electronic blip control, a pneumatic blip cylinder can be used for throttle blip. The blip cylinder will push the throttle pedal or throttle body when needed. This can only be used in combination with a triple valve block.
