Complete motorsport differential for BMW F8x

This bolt-on differential is a complete unit which replaces the electronic GHAS differential. This motorsport differential is designed for the BMW F87 M2, F80 M3, F82 M4 and the F83 M4 models, featuring a Drexler LSD and KMP Motorsport final drive.

Compatibility

Mechanical LSD instead of servo-operated

The mechanical plated differential is predictable and it does not generate as much heat as the Active M differential, which is better fitting for continuous, high-endurance racing situations. The ramp angles and preload are configured specially for racing conditions.

Ratio 3.91 instead of 3.46

KMP has developed this differential setup for motorsport, with an optimized final drive ratio of i= 3.91. Improving wheel torque by 13% in all gears. For more details, refer to our Blog. The advantages of a KMP Motorsport differential compared to a BMW Motorsport differential is that the final drive is replaceable, as it is a wear part. After mileage, the differential is serviceable instead of replacing the complete unit.

Compatibility and installation notes:

• To use the KMP Motorsport differential, you will need either two left OEM driveshafts or the KMP driveshafts. 
• The OEM E-LSD must be disabled in the software before installation; we offer assistance with this process.
• Only compatible with steel shafts; not suitable for carbon driveshafts (different spline outcome).
• For use in an F87 M2 (standard), please contact sales prior to purchase.
• This differential is delivered without oil; please use 75W140 oil, 0.9 – 1.0 liter. We highly recommend using Motul or Mobil oil in this differential.

Transport and packaging

The differential is shipped on high-quality reusable wooden crate to ensure safe transport. KMP offers pickup shipments on request as well, please contact our sales department.

Deposit for exchange unit

To ensure short lead times, we offer a deposit/exchange service if you use the exchange option, you will need to pay the deposit upfront. After the differential is returned to KMP, and inspected by us, the deposit will be refunded.
